GreenLeaf can compete with the Asian market.
CFO of GreenLeaf Industries |
When it comes to product cost, GreenLeaf is showing their vendors that supporting American industry and cost effectiveness do not have to be mutually exclusive.
Lawrence Segrest, GreenLeaf's CFO, sees no reason why American molders cannot match what Asian suppliers have to offer on price:
"Molding machinery and plastic resin are commodities whose price is controlled by the world market. A Chinese manufacturer pays the same for his equipment, electricity, and raw materials as GreenLeaf.
By matching China's inexpensive labor with cost-effective automation, GreenLeaf can offer pricing that is very competitive within the global economy. After accounting for the hidden cost of doing business in China, GreenLeaf's part costs are equivalent or better than what a customer can get overseas."
